Westgarth Film Festival - Proudly supported by GoGet
The Westgarth Village community is known for its 'can-do' attitude, one of the reasons why car sharing got its start in Melbourne right in the centre of Westgarth.
Ten years on from the Westgarth Festival the local residents and businesses have got together to launch the Westgarth Film Festival. With the support of the City of Darebin the festival will run from Thursday 3rd to Sunday 13th November.
GoGet is excited to support the event through the use of GoGet's Richard the Wagon, a Toyota Corolla Station Wagon normally based in Fitzroy.
There is a great program of screenings, forums and readings held across local cafes, bars and stores and the Festival also includes the inaugural Yarra Trams Short Film Awards - with $2500 in prize money.
GoGet Founder and Director Bruce Jeffreys, having worked on a number of Film Festivals including organising a Turkish Film Festival in Melbourne, reckons the Westgarth locals are really onto something, 'What a great way to celebrate your local neighbourhood - this gives anyone a real chance to get involved'.
