GoGet: Taking Care of Business in Chatswood

Car Share: Sustainable Transport Welcome in WilloughbyWith the aim to clear our roads and clean our air a little more each year, Willoughby City Council has launched a car share service this Friday at the Willoughby City Library Car Park on Albert St, Chatswood.
As part of its sustainable transport program, Willoughby has allocated two initial car pods (car parking spaces) in Chatswood in support of sustainable transport and improving transport options for locals.
The service, run by GoGet, is an affordable and convenient way for people to access cars without having to worry about parking, registration, insurance and all the other hassles and costs associated with owning a car.
Members of the Willoughby Car Share will be able to book cars online or by the phone on an hourly or daily basis, and will be billed monthly for their car usage. The hourly rate is either $4.40 or $6.60, depending on the membership plan.
“Willoughby City Council is dedicated to reducing its impact on the environment and this sustainable transport alternative is one of the many initiatives it is introducing this year.
Willoughby City Council has provided two locations, ‘pods', in Chatswood at the Willoughby City Library car park on Archer Street and on Albert St near the corner with Archer Street, where the cars will be parked. These pods are marked with green parallel lines announcing the car share parks and signposts.
GoGet, Australia's oldest and largest car share service, already successfully operates across inner-city Sydney and Melbourne.
