What happens if I return the car late?

We ask that you don’t, because another member could be waiting to use the car after you.

The vast majority of members bring the car back on time most of the time.

Sometimes though, you can’t help but be late. In that case, it’s very easy to extend your booking over the phone using our touch-tone phone booking system.

If no other member has booked the car after you, you will be able to extend the booking automatically. If someone has booked the car, you’ll be put through to GoGet’s Head Office and we will try to move the other GoGet member to a different car. If there are no cars available within walking distance, then there is a $50 late fee. ($25 goes to the inconvenienced member.)

If you have any doubt about being able to return the car on time, you should reserve the car for an extra hour when making your booking.
