This month we’re being all sentimental. GoGet has some great friends that are up to exciting things, and we’re inviting you to take part! We’re also inviting you to help out a good friend, by adding them to your account for free, or get them a nice starting bonus for their own account. We’d like to get to know you a little better too, so if you ditched your old car and joined GoGet, there’s a special opportunity to tell us all about it.
Garage Sale Trail
The Garage Sale Trail is on Saturday 25 October this year, and GoGet is getting involved. For our members who don’t have garages, we’re holding a GoGet Car Boot Market!
We’ll have 10 cars in Sydney, and another 10 in Melbourne, for members to use as their very own Garage Sale Trail stall. All the cars will be together in one spot, creating a massive car boot market.
If you’d like a car to use as a stall, please get in touch here.
GoGet at Westfield
Riding in a GoGet car is the height of sophistication, and now the home of fashion is on board with GoGet! WestfieldParramatta, Chatswood andBurwood will play host to GoGet vehicles, helping customers get bulky products home, businesses do deliveries and errands, and for people living nearby to use.
We’re excited to bring carshare to our fashionable friends at Westfield!
Ditch your clunker
Did you upgrade to GoGet from an old bomb? We want to hear your story! Many people keep old cars because they can’t justify buying a new car, and we’re showcasing people who chose GoGet instead. Tell us your story here.
On the other hand, if you have a friend who is holding onto an old car, we want you to help them out of it. We’ll give your friend a $50 driving credit to get started with GoGet, and we’ll give you $50 credit for the referral! If you need help convincing them, send them this article to read – then have them post a photo of the old car they’re ditching to our Facebook page. For more information about this offer, check out our Help out a Friend page.
Secret new cars
We add heaps of new cars to our network every day, that’s not big news. What is exciting is that we’re about to launch completely new car types as permanent additions to our fleet.
We can’t reveal anything yet, but we’re offering a great opportunity to one member as part of the big launch. If you can guess the type of vehicle we’re adding, we’ll send you on a weekend away in the car! We’ll be shooting some video before and after your trip (we won’t follow you the whole time), but if you’re not camera shy get in touch and give us your best guess!

Tip of the Month
Do you have a second home? If you regularly book cars from work, an IKEA or Westfield, or a house that isn’t your primary address, you don’t have to type it into the booking system every time.
Next time you book a car from somewhere that isn’t your home address, take a second to click “Save this location to favourites”. That way, next time it’ll be saved under “Favourite Locations”, and you only have to click! It also works with our mobile site, saving your favourite spots to book cars on the go.
Share your GoGet account
Are you sitting all alone on your account? As you might know, one of the benefits of GoGet membership is that you can have more than one driver on your account. Each driver gets their own smartcard and login details, and your invoice itemises who drove which cars, and when.
- GoOccasional accounts can have one extra driver, two in total
- GoFrequent accounts can have two extra drivers, three in total
- Business accounts can have unlimited extra drivers
Normally, if you’re on GoOccasional or GoFrequent, it costs $25 to add an extra driver. But for August and September, we’re offering free extra drivers!
Add your partner, your parents, a roomie, anyone you like – we don’t mind. Just log in to the booking system, go to My Info, and have them complete an application under your account.
GoGet for Business
Do you know a business that spends a fortune on cabs, or keeps fleet cars they barely ever use? Businesses of all sizes use GoGet to get around, and they love it just as much as our personal members do. GoGet is convenient, unpretentious and, unlike almost every other transport option, it’s very easy to keep track of expenses.
If you know someone who could use GoGet for business, give us their details here and we’ll get in touch with them. If they sign up, we’ll give you both $50 driving credit!
Race to the 19th hole
The Northern Beaches is blessed with stunning coastal golf courses, but they can be locked away unless you’re local or an avid golfer. Our friend Lyndsay is helping open up these great places to more people, with theSurf and Turf Night Trail Series.
With run, walk, family, schools and corporate categories, Surf and Turf invites everyone to enjoy four of the most beautiful golf courses in Sydney through glow-lit running trails. Held at 7.30pm on weeknights through September to December, the races are a great way to break up the week and make the most of the lengthening days. Bring your friends – drinks and dinner are held at the clubhouse afterwards, where you can celebrate your victory or commiserate your loss, and just have a good time either way.
The first race is on Thursday 4 September at the Wakehurst Golf Club, which is about a half hour drive from the city. Check out all the dates and locations at the Surf and Turf Series website, and use the promo code “GOGET” at checkout to get 15% off entry fees.
Sydney Underground Film Festival
Unexcited by the latest mainstream flick? Does the idea of predictable sequal #5 make your eye twitch a little bit? Our friends at theSydney Underground Film Festival are working to deliver a bit of creativity and enthusiasm back to filmmaking, by supporting the best in experimental, challenging and independent cinema.
Opening night party is on the 4th of September at The Factory in Marrickville, and we have cheap tickets for you! Buy tickets here, and use the promo code “GOGETSUFF” to get $10 off.
Seamus goes to Bowden
Last week, the first of two cars destined for Bowden arrived from Melbourne.Seamus the Corolla made the 1000km trip, which our member driver said was made very pleasant by the comfortable car, good sound system and cruise control.
Joining Seamus will be Dave the i30 Wagon, giving the new residents of Bowden a larger car to help with bigger items. Bowden is on the train line and close to everything, making GoGet a great alternative to car ownership for residents. Welcome to the GoGet network, Bowden!
Cool things our members are doing
Cycling is great – it’s cheap, easy and keeps you fit as you get around. But to get the most from it, sometimes you need support from a network of cycling friends.
GoGet member Vikash has set up BikeMeUp.com.au as a community marketplace for cyclists. Whether you need to part with a treasured bike, buy somebody elses bike at a great price, or find special parts and accessories for your bike, BikeMeUp.com.au lets you get the most out of cycling even if you’re new to the scene.
Vikash developed BikeMeUp as a more accessible and easy alternative to the cycling forums, bike owner networks and physical stores that newer bike owners can find intimidating. As cycling becomes more mainstream, services like BikeMeUp will play an important role in making bike ownership easy for everyone. Check out their Facebook page here.
