Room Ten

We know appearances can be deceiving, and Room Ten is a perfect example of that. This hole in the wall on Llankelly Street, Potts Point may not look like much, but it packs a food and beverage punch. It’s a real hidden gem!

Their coffee is some of the best in the Kings Cross area, making it some of Sydney’s best. They have a house blend for milk coffee and feature a different single origin selection every week for black coffee. That will satisfy even the pickiest coffee drinkers. Along with a strong breakfast and lunch menu, it’s easy to see why Room Ten is loved by GoGet members.

They’re open 7am-4pm weekdays, and 8am-4pm on weekends. Connect with them on Facebook, and get some eyeball satisfaction on their Instagram.

Meet Gerard

You’ll Meet Gerard on Gerard Street, Alexandria (see what we did there?). The owners are two friends; one’s been making coffee for years, the other’s been cooking for years. Together they’ve made something pretty special.

Meet Gerard make great coffee, featuring both locally roasted blends and single origin selections. The food takes an interesting twist on cafe staples, with a strong vegetarian menu. The classics are still offered for omnivores though.

You can Meet Gerard 7am-4pm Monday to Saturday. To learn more and see their offerings, head to their website or Instagram.

Badde Manors

Just like this cafe’s homophone – bad manners – Badde Manors is hard to miss, with a bold shop front on Glebe Point Road. Badde Manors has been around for years, and could be considered a legend of the Sydney cafe scene.

The food is, in a word, excellent. They serve vegan and vegetarian meals only, so you won’t get another ‘steak and salad – hold the steak’ disappointment. If you’re a meat eater, relax. The meals have lots of variety and are very satisfying – you won’t be disappointed.

You can show some Badde Manors from 7am-midnight seven days. Scout ahead on the website or Instagram.

Thelma & Louise

Thelma & Louise might be the most Sydney cafe in the city, perched on the harbour itself at Neutral Bay. The cafe is right by the ferry wharf, so catching a ferry across the harbour to stop down for coffee and cake is easy.

Owners Marilyn and Anne Marie (the proverbial Thelma & Louise) have a strong focus on locally sourced organic food, with lots of ingredients grown in their own garden. Everything else is sourced from farmer’s markets, to keep it as fresh as possible.

The tables by the water are to die for, and are in demand 7am-5pm weekdays, 8am-5pm on weekends. Check their website or Instagram.

West Juliett

You’ll find West Juliett on a quiet suburban corner in Marrickville. It’s a few minute’s walk to both Enmore Park and Marrickville Metro, but it’s far enough away to escape the noise.

Marrickville locals are a classy bunch with high coffee standards, so the number of GoGetters recommending West Juliett speaks volumes. For those with pups, the cafe is very dog friendly. In fact, they’ve been known to put on dog-treat cooking classes.

Drop into West Juliett 7am-4pm Monday to Saturday, or 8am-3pm on Sundays. For now, head to their website and check out their Instagram.
