We’re now well and truly into 2015, but don’t think the festive season is behind us! Chinese New Year is giving us occasion to eat, be merry and celebrate, and the southern states have a public holiday coming up which we think you should borrow. We’re also getting down to business, looking back at all the new suburbs we’ve launched in recently and where we’re heading next, and inviting you to come join the team to help us grow even more.
Kung Hei Fat Choy!
If you haven’t already been alerted by the crackers of cai qing, the world is ringing in the Year of the Sheep. Whether you’re into eating, watching fireworks, checking out awesome contemporary Chinese art or all of the above, Chinese New Year is two weeks of excuses to not stay at home. Don’t miss out on anything, check out the Chinese New Year website to see what looks good. We know we’ll be gorging on dumplings… to celebrate, of course!
Labour Day Long Weekend
Whether you’re lucky enough to get a long weekend on the 9th of March or not, we’re giving you a great opportunity to take some time off and get out of the city. You can pick up a car from selected city pods after work on Friday afternoon, and return it on the way to work on Tuesday morning, for just $150. That’s roughly $42 per day, but we’re not too strict when you pick up on Friday afternoon or return on Tuesday morning. Call us on 1300 769 389 to book a car from the afternoon of Friday the 6th of March (or Saturday morning) to the morning of Tuesday the 10th, and we’ll give it to you for a flat $150. The special only applies to certain pods, premium cars aren’t included, and reduced liability charges are extra.
Try a RAV4 for $69/day
Everybody’s raving about our RAV4s, so this month we’re inviting GoFrequent, GoOccasional and GoStudent members to try one for themselves. Until the 15th of March, you can take one for just $69 per day. Simply book one near you, and forward your booking confirmation to email@example.com to fix up the pricing. You can book as manycontinuous days as you like for $69 per day, but the special is only valid for one booking per account. Reduced liability and location charges are extra, and this offer is not valid for GoStarter members or business accounts.
New Suburbs – $60 referral credit
See that little pod marker in the top left? Yes, we’ve landed in Baulkham Hills. The Hills is the latest in a list of new areas for GoGet in the suburbs of Sydney, and soon we’ll be expanding into Warringah, Strathfield and Canada Bay. In Melbourne, we’ve launched new pods in Boroondara and Glen Eira councils, and Darebin recently announced big plans for new pod locations. All this means we’re now in places we never used to be. If you’ve ever had friends be jealous of your car-free lifestyle and bemoan a lack of GoGet near them, now’s the time to point them over to our network map – they may be surprised! Until the 15th of March we’re offering $60 referral credit for members in new areas. That means $60 driving credit for you, and $60 credit for your friend. Just have them mention your name in the application.
Help us grow
It’s not just our network that is getting bigger. We’re currently advertising for full time and part time Member Services and Fleet roles. If you’re more business minded, we’re also hiring a Business Development Manager and a Locations and Developer Relations Manager. Look out for these two roles on our Positions Vacant page in the coming days.
Tip of the Month
We’ve heard that not everybody loves our 1300 number. It can cost extra from payphones and some phone plans, and you can’t call it from overseas. If you’d rather have a regular number to call, we’re now ready to reveal our landline number… Are you ready? Do you have a pen and paper? Here it is! Sydney: 02 8039 3700 Melbourne: 03 8672 5020 Brisbane: 07 3177 9987 Adelaide: 08 6313 2928 There’s no difference to how the number works, so you might as well save it in your phone and save some money on your phone bill.
Be a guinea pig
How would you like to be involved in some research we’re doing with Suncorp and the Queensland University of Technology? We’re against member/animal testing – the research is just asking about how you get around and your thoughts on the future of transport. One is a design workshop in Sydney, where you’ll get a $50 Coles/Myer Gift Card for attending. The other is an online survey, where you could win an iPad Mini 2. If you’re interested in participating in either, get in touch here and we’ll forward you an invitiation. The survey closes on February 20th, and the workshop has limited spaces, so be quick!

Find your HUB
Being a cutting-edge entrepreneur can be lonely work sometimes. If you’re building something amazing, working on disrupting an industry, or just getting on with the daily grind of making the world a better place from your garage, consider using a coworking office like HUB. HUB isn’t just a rent-a-space office. With collaborative working spaces and regular social events, they’re somewhere you can work with other like minded people and bounce ideas off people who aren’t your partner, your kids or your cat. Besides good company, HUB gives you desk space, free printing, good wifi, meeting rooms and tea & coffee. GoGet members get 1 day pass free, worth $50, if you book in here.
This month is a big one for everybody starting uni or TAFE this year. One thing makes life as a student easy: Cheap movie tickets, public transport, and GoGet’s student plan! Our student plan is unbeatable. You get the lowest rates of GoFrequent, but without joining fees or membership fees. P platers are welcome, and our rates are the same no matter what your age. If you refer a student to sign up before March 15, you’ll both get $60 driving credit! Just have them mention your name in the application. For rates and special instructions on how to sign up, visit our Students Page.
Cool things our members are doing
How’d you like to have a coffee fairy? GoGet member Vik has set up Joe Merchant & Co as the kind of coffee fairy that brings you a different variety of single origin coffee beans every month. Joe Merchant won’t steal you away to a magical paradise, but when you discover using Aeropress, Hario drip filters or French Press to make delicious coffee with unique beans each month, you’ll be pretty happy with yourself. It’s cheaper, better for the environment, and opens up a different world of coffee you don’t get from your local takeaway stand. GoGet members can get 10% off their first box by using the coupon code GOGET at joemerchant.co. If you’re doing cool things, or have something you’d like to share with us, write to us!
