We’ve reached November, GoGetters, and we’re gearing up for a pretty glorious Summer. Now is the perfect time to start planning your Christmas and Summer holidays – if you’re hitting the road for a long trip, give us a call! We can arrange a great long-term rate for you. We’ll even throw in some great road trip tunes, courtesy of some of our musical members. Don’t forget to check out our Specials Board for a great deal on our day rate!
Change of plans? No worries!
We’ve made a change to our booking system to give our GoOccasional and GoFrequent members even more flexibility and convenience with their bookings.
From today, GoOccasional and GoFrequent members won’t have to give 48 hours’ notice to change or cancel a booking – GoOccasional and GoFrequent members can now make changes to their bookings with 24 hours’ notice. That means you can adjust the time, change cars or even cancel your booking if you have a change of plans.
Give a little, GoGet a little
We’ve been busy adding more and more cars to our network to get ready for Summer. Our cars are all super excited to see where they’ll be taken, so to help make sure they have the best Summer ever, we have a great deal to bring more new GoGetters on board.
We have cars in new locations all over the city and if you have friends or family in one of our selected suburbs, they can sign up this month for free! Plus, there’s something in it for you, too, if you refer someone who signs up. Find out which suburbs are included here and start spreading the word!
But wait, there’s more!
Refer a business that signs up this month and you’ll receive $100 driving credit – not bad for a few minutes’ work! Our business plans have no application or monthly fees, with hourly rates from $6.35, plus $0.40/km.
Organisations using GoGet save thousands each year on transport while helping to reduce congestion on our roads. If you think your business (or any other) could benefit from using GoGet, let us know. Just fill out this short form and we’ll get in touch with them.
New GoGet suburbs
Thanks to City of Canada Bay Council, our network in Sydney is reaching even more suburbs. There are now cars in Five Dock and Drummoyne ready to book. If you know anyone in the area who could use GoGet, let them know they can sign up for free this month!
Show us your mo’!
The GoGet office is getting a little hairier this month – Daniel from our fleet crew is growing a mo’ for Movember and two weeks in, we’re pretty impressed with his effort already!
If any blokes out there think they can grow a better mo’, we want to see it! Send us a photo of your most impressive Movember moustache – we’ll post it to our Facebook page and our five favourites will win a $100 donation to your Movember campaign! Head to our Facebook page to find out more about how you can support Daniel’s effort!
Super charged for Summer
Yarises in the CBD will soon have bright orange chargers suitable for iPhones and all Android, Samsung, LG, Sony, Blackberry and Windows phones. So now you can go hands-free and turn up at your destination fully charged and ready for action! Just be sure to leave the charger in the car for the next member to use.
Big Aussie Swap Party
If you still have a few bits and pieces left over from last month’s Garage Sale Trail, here’s a second chance to give a second life to some of your old wares. It’s National Recycling Week and on Sunday November 17, the Big Aussie Swap Party is being held at Randwick Community Centre. It’s your chance to swap quality items you no longer need for something you can really use. There will also be a community barbeque and screening of the documentary Trashed. To find out more, visit the Big Aussie Swap Party website.
Play Santa for a day for Oxfam
Oxfam Australia’s annual delivery of Christmas trees will take place this year on Saturday December 7 and Sunday December 8. Last year, the delivery raised nearly $140,000 for poverty and social justice programs in Australian and overseas.
Volunteers deliver fresh, green Christmas trees to homes in Melbourne and Geelong and this year, GoGet is getting on board! We’re donating a van to help with the deliveries – we just need members to play Santa to drive the ‘sleigh’!
If you’d like to pitch in and help deliver trees for a few hours on Saturday or Sunday, let us know! There are flexible delivery times and drop off areas, so you can choose when and where you’d like to volunteer.
If you can’t volunteer, but don’t want to miss out on the wonderful smell of pine needles, you can order your own Christmas tree from Oxfam and help the cause.
Tip of the month
The 2013 wagons have even more boot space, but their clever design makes the car even more compact than the previous models. We’re adding new wagons to our fleet all the time – keep an eye on your emails for updates of cars near you.
GoGet around the world
Your GoGet card not only unlocks over 1200 cars across Australia, it’s your key to cars around the world too! We have partnerships with carsharing organisations in New Zealand, Brazil, the UK, Canada and the US and the latest to come on board with us is CarShare Vermont.
Any GoGet members travelling to Vermont can sign up without paying the application fee, a saving of $30! If you’re travelling and want to pick up a unique souvenir, check out our website for a list of all our roaming partners – start a collection of carsharing smart cards! Find out how you can sign up to CarShare Vermont for free by emailing the CarShare VT team.

Cool things members are doing
Every month we like to let you know about some of the cool things our members get up to. If you have a story you’d like to share, let us know.
GoGet member Andrew Bristow has spent a lot of time on the Sydney music scene, playing in local bands and recording his own album of nine original tracks. But his latest set is one of the more unusual places to stage a gig – GoGet cars! Andrew has donated copies of his new CD, Nine Lives, for members to enjoy on their next GoGet trip.
We’re getting music from local artists, who are donating CDs to be placed in GoGet cars. We’d like to get as many local bands on board as possible, so if you or someone you know would like a few new fans, let us know! We’ll distribute your CDs in some of our cars so that our members can be some of the first to hear the latest local music. Who knows, the next driver could become your biggest fan! Just fill out this form and be part of GoGet radio!
If you don’t find one of Andrew’s albums in a car near you, you can download the album here.
That’s all for this month! As always, if you have any questions, comments or feedback, let us know! We’re always happy to hear from you!
Nic, Bruce and the GoGet team.
