It’s GoGet’s birthday! We’re celebrating our ten year anniversary this month. We’ve come a long way from three cars and twelve members in Newtown – there are now over 1100 cars and 30,000 members in four cities! To celebrate, we’re giving you the presents! There’s plenty more in this month’s newsletter for you to sing and dance about, from new places to fill up, the launch of our new website and another great deal for GoOccasional and GoFrequent members.

GoGet turns ten!

Happy birthday, GoGet To celebrate our ten year anniversary, we’re giving you the presents! From Monday June 17 to the end of the month, whenever you have a booking, be sure to check the glove box or the boot for a little surprise – driving vouchers, free weekends, upgrades, movie tickets, custom GoGet lollies, gift baskets and for one member, free GoFrequent membership for ten years! There are 200 gifts to be found that will be hidden over the next two weeks, so book a car and start hunting! (Keep in mind that you must have a booking when you find a gift to be able to redeem it – if you just swipe in and pick up a gift from a car, the gift will be void. We won’t be angry, just disappointed.)

BP Fuel Cards

BP Good news for filling up! You’ll have even more places to refuel now that we’re introducing BP fuel cards. We’ll be rolling out BP cards over the next few weeks so you can fill up at any Caltex, Woolworths, Ampol or BP station. The best part is, one fuel PIN will work with both cards. Check your confirmation email to find the PIN and use it with either card at either station. Just be sure to use the Caltex card at Caltex and Woolies stations and the BP card at BP stations.

Extreme (website) makeover!

New website

We’re sure most of you have seen it by now, but just in case – our new website is up and running! There are new features to help you find cars, make requests for your pod and space for you to recommend your favourite things near your pod! We’ve also launched the latest version of our mobile booking site, so it’s now even easier to book a car while you’re out and about.

The website is still a work in progress, so if you find any problems with the site or have any feedback, send it through to us here. Rest assured we’re working out the kinks, all day and all of the night.

Something for GoOccasional members…

Every month, we’re giving GoOccasional and GoFrequent members even more reasons to love GoGet! This long weekend has reminded us in the office just how much you can do on a weekday. That’s why, until the end of June, we’re doing a 3-for-2 deal! GoOccasional members can book an economy car for three consecutive weekdays and receive the third day free. That means you can book three days any time between midnight Monday morning and midnight Friday night and only pay for two days. To redeem this offer, make a three day booking and forward your confirmation email to and we’ll credit your account. Note that a limit of four free days per account applies.

…and GoFrequent members!

GoFrequent members can go one better and book ANY car – van, utes, people movers and premium cars included – for three weekdays and receive the third day free! Forward your confirmation email to and we’ll credit your account. Note that the same limit of four free days per account applies.

Know the streets of Hong Kong like the back of your hand?

GoGet in Hong Kong

GoGet’s heading up the road to Hong Kong to bring car sharing to another of the world’s great harbour cities. If you’re born and bred in Hong Kong or have spent many years living there, we’d love your help. We’re holding a special brainstorming event on Thursday June 20, from 2.15pm to 4.30pm, at the beautiful Gardener’s Lodge Café in Victoria Park (opposite Broadway Shopping Centre). Get together with other Hong Kong locals and help us work out what are the right starting locations for GoGet on the ground. We’ll provide tea, coffee and plenty of cakes to get your brain humming. Places are limited, so register if you’d like to attend by filling out a registration form and questionnaire. If you can’t make Thursday but would like to give us your two bobs worth, fill out the same registration form, select “Can’t attend” and fill in your thoughts.

New pen tag lines

GoGet Pens There’s a lot you can say with a pen… or on a pen! Our GoGet pens have been “Rewriting car ownership” and reminding us to “Please leave at least 1/4 full of ink”. Now, we’re looking for new tag lines for our GoGet pens. The best two ideas will win $100 driving credit for a weekend away, a few nights out or grocery trips, anything you like! Fill in your ideas here!

Have you got what it techs?

GoGet’s sister tech company Fleetcutter is embarking on a major technology refresh and is looking for a couple of junior-mid developers and testers to join their team in their Glebe office. What you want: to kick start your career with a challenging software and hardware development cycle. What Fleetcutter wants: two bright sparks with a year or two experience with some or all of these acronyms: HTML/JS/CSS, PHP/Python/Cocoa Touch, MySQL, VB/Access, LAMP/Win, Unit Testing, Selenium, Bamboo, Git/CVS, Electronics Diagnosis/Hardware/Comms – yep, all sorts! If you think you’d be a good match, send your CV and cover letter to Fleetcutter.

Council News

Great news for all our members from Bronte to Vaucluse! All of our cars in the Waverley local government area now have a dedicated bay and most also have a parking permit. This will make parking your car even easier, in its pod or a permitted space nearby. Thanks to our members and partners at Waverley Council for making this possible!

New Cars and Pods

Tip of the Month

Now that you’ll be keeping an eye out for BP Stations to fill up at as well, you might like to download their app to help you find a station on your travels. You can also check their locations online. Plus, if you haven’t downloaded it already, you can also get the Caltex app.

Cool Things Members Are Doing

Sydney Vision

Every month we like to let you know about some of the cool things our members get up to. So if you have a story you want to share, shoot us an email. If you’re having Eurovision withdrawals and can’t wait until next year for another hit, this could be what you’re looking for! Sydneyvision invites Sydney-siders to enter an original song for their suburb, with the best 14 being shown at the Grand Final in August at the Dendy Newtown. To enter, simply pen and perform an original song with the name of a Sydney suburb somewhere in the lyrics and post your music video to the team at Newtown Neighbourhood Centre (who are long-time GoGet members) by 30 July. In keeping with Eurovision style, videos must also contain one of three required elements: hip thrust, the casting off of an item of clothing by a performer or the very tasteful wearing of something fluoro. First prize is $500 cash and the winner will get to perform on stage at Newtown Festival. There are also cash prizes for second and third place and the People’s Choice winner. Click here to find out how to enter.

Weird and wonderful ideas winners

Congratulations to Joseph, Kate and Pamela on winning six month’s free membership and a huge thank you to everyone who submitted their great (and sometimes a little strange!) ideas.
