Scavenge in Style

VIP Experience

Garage Sale Trail is on Saturday the 24th of October, and with it thousands of sellers will be laying out their wares across the country.

It’s really the best opportunity to score a 70s record cabinet, vintage Queen Mother commemorative plate, chic lampshade and/or aquatic life-themed summer dress. And we’re giving you the opportunity to do it all in style!

Get chauffeured – by a professional driver – from garage sale to garage sale in one of our black Audi A3 sedans, with up to 3 friends! And so you can splash out on anything that takes your fancy, big and small, you’ll be trailed by a GoGet van with 2 eager helpers.

To win this VIP Garage Sale Trail experience, all you need to do is tell us the weirdest, wackiest and funniest thing you’ve found at a garage sale. Enter here today!

Host a Garage Sale

Garage Sale TrailIf you’ve got things to sell rather than buy, consider hosting a sale on the day. Especially if you’ve never held a garage sale before, the Garage Sale Trail is a great opportunity to do it in a supportive environment with lots of people out looking to buy.

To help you set up a garage sale, we asked decluttering and organising expert Tracey Warren to write a post for our new blog. From deciding what to sell to how much change to keep, she covers it all in a simple 5 step guide.

It’s not too late to register a sale with Garage Sale Trail. When you know what you want to sell, go to their website and register your details. Your sale will be included in their online maps so people will find you, and you’ll be given some free resources to help you make the most of the day.

Go on, it’s fun and a great way to declutter and make some money!

$99 Weekends

View from the topItching to get home Friday arvo and do something fun for the weekend?

If you work in the city, you can pick up a city car on Friday after work, return it Monday morning, and this month you’ll pay just $99. With 300kms included, you can get out of the city on a little road trip, or just keep the car with you for errands – whatever suits!

For details on claiming the offer, please check out our specials page.

Eligible pods are listed out here, but typically CBD commercial car parks are included, while on-street bays in neighbourhoods are not eligible. Offer ends in mid November, but you can take as many weekends as you want until then.

Tip of the month

MotorpassOur transition to GoGet fuel cards is nearly complete, with pretty much all our cars now having the fancy new card. The new fuel card can be used almost anywhere, not just BP or Caltex. Aside from that, they work exactly the same as the old fuel cards.

There are still some cars that have BP and Caltex cards, so check which fuel card your car has when deciding where to fill up. If it’s a GoGet/Motorpass card, almost any petrol station in the city will accept it.

Remember: if it ever turns out the card can’t be used, please pay with your own money and we’ll reimburse you.

Antenna Documentary Film Festival

Last Tuesday, the Antenna Documentary Film Festival kicked off, and it continues this weekend with a very exciting line up, their best so far!

Antenna is all about non-fiction storytelling, tackling big issues through touching personal stories. We’ve sponsored them for a few years now, and it’s exciting how much they’ve grown in their fifth year.
Check out their line-up for this weekend here, and treat yourself to a night of eye-opening film.

New Sydney Airport POD

Sydney AirportFor the next time you fly into Sydney, we now have a brand new Sydney Airport pod!

Our new pod at the Park & Fly car park makes trips to Sydney super easy. Book before you board, swipe on and drive off. No need to organise airport pick-ups or drop offs, and keep the car with you for your stay.

Sydney Airport Park & Fly is served by a free, on-demand shuttle bus to all three terminals. For the shuttle pickup points and phone number to call, check out our Sydney Airport page.

We also have an existing pod at the Mecure Airport Hotel if you’re staying close to the airport.

A car for Christmas

Christmas preplanningIf you’re the kind of person who is starting a pudding, buying tickets to a New Year’s Eve party and hassling friends and family about holiday plans, we’re here to support your early Christmas planning.

Because keeping a car over Christmas can be super handy, we’ll be offering great deals on long term bookings in December and January. If you’re interested in bookings for as long as a week, a fortnight or even a month, register your interest here and you’ll get first dibs!

Cool things our members are doing

Teats for TotsGoGet members Mimijumi are revolutionising the baby bottle industry with “the perfect baby bottles.” Many mums find breastfeeding impractical at times, or impossible for other reasons, and find themselves with a fussy baby who refuses to take a bottle.

Mimijumi have created a baby bottle nipple made from 100% medical grade silicone textured like skin, all the way down to the pores. It’s “soft and squishy” Mimijumi explains, so babies can latch onto the bottle properly to create suction to make the bottle produce milk.

GoGet is helping Mimijumi hand deliver free nipples to mums with fussy babies as part of their Free Nipple Program. If you see our Teats for Tots car around, grab a photo!

For many mums, bottle feeding is not a choice and it can be a difficult journey to introduce a bottle to their baby. Mimijumi aims to make this transition easier, and more natural. Additionally, the stigma around bottle-feeding leaves many mums feeling isolated. We hope the Teats for Tots car brings awareness to a very real difficulty for many mums.

If you’re doing cool things, or have something you’d like to share, write to us.
