Spring has sprung, the grip of winter is loosening, and a long weekend is coming up – life is good! This month we’ve got some ideas to get you out of the house and into the sunshine.
Labour Day Long Weekend
Our long weekend drought has been broken! To celebrate your dedicated hard work since June, Labour Day long weekend on the 1-3rd of October is time to kick your feet up and enjoy the blooming spring weather.
To help you along, we’re offering 30% off bookings over the long weekend. Just book an economy car or SUV from a CBD pod, for 3 or more days between Friday afternoon and Tuesday morning, and use the promo code OCT30 to get 30% off your day rate. Book today!

Cars for bikes
We recently installed bike racks on some cars, as a little trial in the newest GoGet city, Canberra. We know Canberrans love their bikes, so the bike racks have been very popular, but we’re interested in bringing them to other cities too.
The bike racks are upright carriers (see pictured), and there are two of them to a car. We don’t charge any extra to use a bike rack-equipped car, however the racks aren’t removable, making the existing roof racks unusable. For that reason, we’re asking if you’d like bike racks installed in cars near you.
Tip of the Month
Here at GoGet, we love dogs. We’d love to let everybody use all our cars with their dogs, even have dogs driving our cars, but unfortunately there are lots of reasons we can’t allow both these things.
As much as we all love dogs, nobody wants to sit in dog hair and smell like dogs when they’re going somewhere nice. That’s why we have designated pet friendly cars, which have dog hammocks, lint rollers and wet wipes to help you keep the car clean.
As a reminder, pets are not allowed in cars that aren’t pet friendly, unless they’re in a suitable carrier. If there aren’t any cars near you that are pet friendly (or they’re just vans), please get in touch to request one!
See something fun
With spring’s arrival, it seems the city is opening up like a flower with all kinds of great events going on. As it happens, our network of vans and cars come in handy for event organisers, and we sponsor some of Sydney’s favourite things to do.
On today through to Sunday, SUFF is Sydney’s premier festival of quality, unique independent films. It’s only running for three days, but manages to pack in 45 thought provoking, hilarious, scary and weird as heck sessions at the Factory Theatre in Marrickville.
Put on by the same organisers as the Mardi Gras Film Festival, Queer Screen runs from the 20th to 25th of September and features some incredible LGBTIQ movies from all over the world. Tickets are already running scarce, so check out the line up here.
Sydney Fringe has already begun, but there are events all over Sydney running till the end of the month. A bit of live music here, some cabaret there, and even a massive dinner party with a difference, Sydney Fringe has something for everyone. See what’s still to come here.
Starting in late October, this is a head’s up for what looks to be a very exciting lineup of performance art held at the Carriageworks. There are some early bird tickets already available, so check out their website and like their Facebook page to see everything that’s to come.
We sponsor events like this for the warm fuzzy feeling, but every now and then you get a perk in return. Sydneyvision were kind enough to make this cinema ad for us. We’ll, umm, be sure to use it… any day now. Thanks Newtown Neighbourhood Centre!
Cool things our members are doing
Our members at co-working space The Cluster are moving into their shiny new, and slightly higher, offices!
The Cluster is a co-working space in Melbourne CBD, where our very own Melbourne team are based, along with dozens of other start ups, sole traders and creative new entrepreneurs – many of them GoGet members. The Cluster is also our biggest pack pickup location in Melbourne, where hundreds of new GoGet members come to pick up their member packs.
The Cluster recently opened the penthouse on Level 20, featuring even better views of Melbourne, and all board rooms, meeting rooms, conference rooms and other chill places to get work done. If you work from home and can’t justify a full office of your own, but would love to be in the CBD in a comfortable space with other human beings around you, The Cluster is a great option. Check out photos of the new penthouse on their Facebook page.
Cool things our members are doing
GoGet members Artbank are always getting new pieces in, and couldn’t wait to share some with us! Thanks to Artbank, our office was recently refreshed with some really nice pieces, decking out our meeting rooms and halls with lovely Australian art.
Artbank is a fantastic government program that lets you feature Australian artists on your walls while only paying a small annual rental fee. It’s a great way to fill a home or office with art, while supporting living Australian artists at the same time.
If you’re doing cool things, or have something you’d like to share, please write to us.
