We want to help as many people as possible get around without owning a car. That means learners too!

The GoGet learner program lets the partners or children of GoGet members use our learner friendly cars. Read on to learn how it works.

A GoGet car with a learners L Plate on the front - GoGet Learner driver program lets learner drivers use small cars to learn to drive

Who can join?

The GoGet learner program is for family members of existing GoGet members. If you’re over 27 years old, are on GoFrequent or GoOccasional, and have been with GoGet for more than 12 months, you can add a learner driver to your account.

Learners can be any age, but they must live at your address. L-platers must also only drive with you, the main account holder, in the car. First-year red P-platers can drive by themselves, but they still need to live with you.

How much does it cost?

There’s a $25 fee for adding an extra driver to your account.

On bookings, learner drivers are subject to a $2/hour surcharge, up to $18 per day. In the event of an accident or damage, the damage cover liability is $4000, with no option to reduce. As always if the cost of repair is lower, or the driver is deemed not at fault, the difference will be refunded.

Which cars can my learner drive?

GoGet learners can’t drive any car, but there are lots of learner approved cars in our fleet. Learners can drive any Small Hatchback in Australia, and any Medium Hatchback in the ACT.
