Pawpaw Cafe

The popular Woolloongabba establishment Pawpaw Cafe serves breakfast and lunch all day making it a great option if you enjoy a sleep in. This chic Brisbane cafe makes excellent coffee and a delectable breakfast; we recommend their croissant eggs benedict, which is a must-have with your morning brew. Other popular dishes include their famous potato hash with turmeric hummus, smashed avo with haloumi, or any wacky pancake or waffle combination that they've come up with for the season. For almost ten years, Pawpaw has been a staple of the Woolongabba brunch scene. The creative menu draws its inspiration from Asian cuisine and combines delectable Asian elements with typical "western breakfast" staples. For instance, the Kalamansi Meringue Pancake has the Kalamansi, or Philippine lime, while the Tom Yum Omelette includes prawns, cherry tomatoes, and a tom yum vinaigrette. Fish tacos, Malaysian yellow curry, Massaman Bahn mi, and tofu katsu salad are among the lunch options starting at 11:00 am. As an alternative, try the sibling establishments Pawpaw Asian Kitchen in Balmoral or Mons Thai in Camp Hill, both of which are open for dinner seven nights a week.

Morning After

Morning After, as its name suggests, is the ideal place to get through those awful hangovers and is the closest thing to a hangover cure you'll find; a big delicious meal and a cup of coffee. Morning After, a restaurant in Brisbane's West End, features a wide selection of morning fare, yet weekends can be quite crowded so attempt to get there on the earlier side. Start off with a stimulating coffee from Roast by Yili or 5 Senses. Then choose something delicious from the menu that strikes a balance between enjoyment and health by using ingredients that are grown nearby. This contains vegetables from V One, bread from Brasserie, and honey from Bee One Third. From the all-day breakfast menu, try the gingerbread hotcakes, scorched chilli corn, or Vietnamese omelette. If you're a later riser, there's also a lunch menu available starting at 11:00 am. Dishes on it include massaman curry, tempura tacos, and spaghetti dipped in squid ink.

Bear Boy Espresso

Bear Boy Espresso, the younger sibling of the Gold Coast cafe of the same name, is tucked away at the end of Windsor's Colwill Place, a 1920s shopping district that has been recognised as a national historic site. This place in pastel pink earns our endorsement not just for its adorable décor but also for breakfast dishes that can brighten anyone’s morning. Customers can have a well-brewed coffee and a delectable breakfast from a seasonal menu while sitting outside on the balcony or in the cosy, well-lit interior. The chicken and waffles are a staple, as are the eggs benny on a crunchy potato hash waffle. The brunch menu features fresh foods that are primarily obtained from regional farms. There are light options like double smoked ham and gruyere cheese croissants, banana bread with house maple butter and peaches and cream, and free eggs your way on sourdough, as well as healthful bowls like the Acai Bowl, Nectarine Salad, or Sweet Potato Salad.

Nodo

Donut lovers rejoice! Even if you’re not a donut afficionado, would you consider donuts that are fancy for breakfast? With Nodo's assistance, you won't feel guilty. Given that Brisbane has two locations, it appears that the rest of the city has also adopted the shameless free donut breakfast. The staff at Nodo is dedicated to bringing fun back to healthy cuisine, and they also serve a delicious cup of coffee to help the donuts go down. Nodo is not only a favourite cafe in Brisbane because of their renowned baked gluten-free donuts (if you know, you know), but it is also a popular place to eat breakfast. Try the bang bang eggs benny with Szechuan braised ham hock, mandarin hollandaise, and poached eggs on a house-made brioche in the corner while others order one of their several supernatural health smoothies.

The Maillard Project

The Maillard Project was conceptualised by Adam Wang, whose work includes the Coffee Anthology. The wide, airy location, which is in the CBD's Charlotte Street, combines stone, glass, and light woods to create a sleek industrial vibe. The emphasis is on high-quality brews for your morning caffeine fix, much like Coffee Anthology. The brunch menu, however, is as impressive and combines seasonal changes with tried-and-true favourites. Enjoy classic dishes with a modern twist, like eggs benny with scorched butter and miso hollandaise, or daring new dishes, like braised pig belly and potato hash. Beyond the cuisine and coffee, what makes this place unique is that they also have a barista training facility and roast the beans right there. Any level of coffee maker can schedule a practise, participate in a cupping session, and learn from the experts.

Farmhouse Kedron

Farmhouse Kedron is a must-visit if you're seeking laid-back country-style ambience with a great and inventive menu for breakfast or lunch. It is located where Farmer Joes, a beloved produce market, once stood. As a result, many of the menu items are obtained directly from local and regional farmers in homage to this history. The renowned breakfast gnocchi with Farmhouse arrabiatta sauce and thick-cut bacon will satisfy your morning hunger. Alternatively, you can stop by for the renowned all-day potato cake or Ploughman's burger during noon. There is always something new to taste because the menu is seasonal. There is a breakfast classics menu available all day long in addition to superb coffee. A chorizo breakfast burger, avocado on rye, and a build-your-own breakfast are all included. Red velvet waffles, truffle smashed eggs, and scrambled eggs with fermented chiles are some of the more inventive possibilitiesFinally, the sister establishment, Cakes and Shit, is located immediately next door. At this snarky bakery, be on the lookout for delectable yet profanity-filled sugary pastries and late-night desserts. The New Black, a hotspot for Brisbane's creatives, is a tasty justification for a coffee and a meal when you're in the CBD. The modest, cosy location is the perfect place to relax, read a book, and take in the world around you.

Willow & Spoon

One of the nicest cafes in Brisbane is Willow & Spoon, which is possibly the cutest tiny cafe in Newmarket with just the right amount of trendy flair on the side. The Supreme Roasters coffee pairs well with one of the filling breakfast items on the all-day menu, like the truffled scrambled eggs. Going out to eat can be difficult when you have young kids. Alternatively, you may have a laid-back breakfast or lunch at the family-friendly (and dog-friendly) Willow & Spoon while keeping an eye on the youngsters in the outside play area. There is a little interior area up front, but as you make your way down the driveway, a big yard with a sizable terrace for covered dining opens up. In addition to having the atmosphere of eating at a friend's house, the cuisine is really delicious. The seasonal, inventive menu include delicacies like "The Willow," which is house-cured pig belly with scrambled eggs flavoured with truffle oil. Grab a cup or mug of coffee, a cold-pressed juice, a soft drink (make it a spider! ), smoothies, or an authentic thick shake to get you going.
