You've Applied - What Happens Next?

Most applications are approved within 24 hours - here's what to expect while you wait

You've submitted your application - great! Now we just need to verify your details. This usually happens within 24 hours, but sometimes our team needs to review your application manually. Here's everything you need to know about what happens next.

3. Account Activated

Now you can search and book vehicles in the app.

4. Get Your Smartcard

Your Smartcard (used to access GoGet vehicles) will now be posted to you automatically and will take 5+business days. If you need to get going sooner, you can pick one up from a partner location.

⚠️ Important: You must get a Smartcard and activate it in the app to be able to unlock GoGet vehicles.

Making Your First Booking

Booking a GoGet is easy and seamless using the app

Booking is super simple - use the app or website to choose a car, time, and location. Book by the hour for quick trips or by the day with 80km included free. Plans change? Cancel your booking for free right up until your booking starts.

How do I book a car?
Once your account has been approved, use the GoGet app to search for available cars near you, select your date/time, choose the car you want, and confirm. You can book weeks in advance or just minutes before you need it. More details here →
Can I book for just an hour?
Yes! That's one of the big differences from traditional rental. You can book for as little as one hour or as long as you want. You can book by the hour for an hourly rate, or you can book by the day for a discounted day rate. The day rate includes 80km free per day.
Do I pay for the kilometres I drive?
Yes - we charge a transparent per-kilometre rate so it's fair for everyone. Someone driving 5km for groceries shouldn't pay the same as someone doing a 200km road trip! Day bookings also include 80km free (that's like Sydney to Wollongong), and hourly bookings keep your costs low for quick local trips. Plus, GoGet always pays for fuel - so no surprise bills at the petrol station. More details here →
What if my plans change?
Free cancellation right up until your booking starts - no penalties at all.
Do I have to return the car to the same spot?
Yes, all GoGet bookings are return trips. The car must go back to its designated "pod" (parking spot) listed in the GoGet app under your current booking.
What if I need the car longer than I booked?
You can extend your booking through the app if the car is available. If someone else has booked it after you, give us a call as soon as possible so we can try to make arrangements.
